Set up was easy, battery instructions are clear.the features may not be as expansive as newer pens but features can be pricey. It is used by my 6y yr old mom with no issues now that she holds it right and writes in cursive with it and the Windows 10 pen software can read it and transpose it to digital text. But that is a lot of pen devices and those buttons are useful once you get past their positioning. I'm really not an hp person but this product is tough- I would describe it as unbreakable- and is bug free with only a couple superfluous features- the buttons for right and left click on the pen might be clicked by accident when writing if you position you fingers wrong.
